In the first quarter of 2018, the Church embarked on a mission to extend it’s premises by kicking-off the project in a fundraising dinner. The successful event marked the start of a what will be a long journey that we will walk in faith and we thank everyone who attended and supported the dinner. The dinner raised E111 506.00 in pledges and an overall surplus of E134 006.00 after ticket sales and expenses

We thank everyone one who contributed to our humble beginnings.

Why are we doing this

The Church has seen enormous growth over the past years in spite of the effects COVID has had in our world. Before the pandemic, the strategies that we had put in place to distribute our congregants were not sustainable in the long run leading to the Church Board commissioning the fundraising of the extension of our building. Our strategies included:

i) placing speakers in the Hall which is a separate structure used for Sunday Sunday; this could also be perceived as alienating our congregants which was not desired
ii) providing additional chairs in the aisle which were also quickly occupied

After the pinnacle of the COVID era, we are experiencing the same pressures to extend our sanctuary even though our Technical team have began to broadcast the Sunday Service live on our Facebook page. The Church adheres to all Government regulations to curb this pandemic.

Not embarking on this mission would be a disservice to our surrounding community and everyone who wants to fellowship at Living Waters Church

Why was there a pause in fundraising events in 2020 and 2021

In 2020 and 2021, the Living Waters Church of the Nazarene had to shift gears and could not turn a blind eye to the plight of its congregants and surrounding community from the pandemic. Under the guidance of Reverend Rickson Nkhata, the Church had to ramp up its community service and began to focus on efforts in providing affected families who had lost their jobs with food, provisions etc. Moreover, a lot of our affected citizens required hospital visitations, prayer and support in many forms as we held hands during this time and the Church also lost members during this time. Therefore, it was all hands on deck as the Church had to make its presence felt during this difficult time.

Where are we now

Through the faithful giving of our congregants, re-structuring of our events and tight-belting measures the Church has collected E1 658 524.98 as of 11th August, 2022 out of a target of E14 Million as guided by our Architect. This target will become more precise as we engage the contractor and it is very likely that we will worship at a temporal structure when construction begins.

We understand that there is a long road ahead of us; but we remain firm in our mandate that we will reach our Canaan one day for the Glory for God.

How can you help

Our target this Church year (September 2022 to August 2023) is to raise E400, 000 through offerings and targeted initiatives. If you would like to walk with us in this journey you may make monetary donations at this juncture or material donations later on when we have received the Bill of Quantities in the near future.

The architect has been kind enough to draw draft plans and is due for payment of E40, 833.33 Once detailed plans are drafted and approved at the City Council, the architect will be due for another payout of E40, 833.33 Thereafter, the Church will be in a position to pursue the Bill of Quantities (BOQs) with the quantity surveyor.
